One of Orange County’s most established and desirable coastal enclaves, the village of Corona del Mar occupies the southern end of Newport Beach. It abuts Newport Center and the Newport Coast developments and sits closest to Laguna Beach. The original developments of Corona del Mar can be traced back to 1904, with the first widely developed section being the “flowered streets”, or the original village. These streets sit on near equal sides of PCH and run all the way to the bay and ocean. Known for its unpretentious charm, the village streets are lined with an interesting mix of vintage beach cottages and newer residences. Residents here enjoy a charming and relaxed seaside environment with shopping, dining and other amenities laid out in pedestrian oriented setting. Post war developments sprang up around the village, with the last of these developments completed in the 1980’s. More suburban in feel, these later developments offer more family friendly settings than the tighter quarters found throughout the village. The central location, visual charm and ideal lifestyle afforded by Corona del Mar make it one of the pricier sections of the county, but one readily pursued by many buyers with the corresponding means.
